How to Write a Brief Business Bio

Posted on: January 14, 2013

A basic biography should highlight the most important points of your career. It should be easy to read and capture the image and credentials you want to project. Always get right to the point, and do not use fluff or padding. The goal is to get people interested in who you are and what you do, not to bore them. Below is a sample; Sandra Smith is a fictional character.

Sandra Smith received her training and certification from the Holistic Yoga Institute of New York. She has advanced training in Pre-Natal instruction and in Pilates. Sandra began practicing yoga in 1990, while attending Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, NJ. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, she traveled to California to deepen her practice and study at the Ashanda Ashram. In addition to yoga instruction, Sandra has taught art and craft classes to troubled children.
