Get to the Point

Posted on: March 19, 2013

With so many different kinds of communication in today’s world, it is important to get to the point. You cannot afford to dilute your message or waste your time. Neither should you waste someone else’s time.

When you say too much or are too vague, you can lose the other person’s attention or you can cause confusion. This is not what you are trying to achieve. Think about what you want to happen.

Successful communication is about accomplishing what needs to be accomplished. When you are clear about what you are saying, the other person is more likely to understand you. When the other person understands you, you are more likely to get the results that you want.

Hi Conny,

I actually came to find you from craigslist, and I’m glad I did. Your blog has a ton of really great content, so thank you!

This post in particular grabbed my attention, as I just wrote a very similar post on my new blog – “If something can be said in a shorter way, trim the fat.” I’d love it if you checked it out!
