One of the biggest challenges we face in daily life is being aware of and knowing our own moods and motives. Many of us have difficulty separating the feelings and thoughts of others from our own feelings and thoughts.
We are social beings, and it is in our nature to be influenced by others. However, in today’s complex world, this is not always a good thing, because we can be pulled in directions that are not healthy for us or in alignment with our true selves.
Knowing yourself means knowing your true self, not what others expect of you or would have you believe. To know yourself is to be empowered.
“He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened.” ~ Lao Tzu
