What It Means to Go With the Flow

Posted on: September 3, 2014

It is an expression you have heard on numerous occasions, and you may even use it yourself from time to time.

So what does it mean to go with the flow? Does it mean, just let things happen? Or does it mean, make things happen? Perhaps it means both.

Both, you ask? In what way?

To go with the flow is to accept what is without fighting against it, as well as finding and implementing ways to achieve the results you want.

This is not a contradiction. It is a strategy.

The events of life do not flow in a perfect and linear way. There are bends, hurdles, dips, and detours.

When you calmly face this terrain, you gain the ground to keep moving on.
